The Dominican Journal of Plastic Surgery is an advocate of the physical and mental health of the new Dominican society.

The fundamental role of this society of health specialists is to include and bring together all accredited plastic surgeons in the Dominican Republic, promote continuous medical education, organizing courses, congresses, research and publication of works in scientific media, in order to maintain updated the technical knowledge, for the best practice of the specialty. However, the current, national and global circumstances of this medical service deserve and in fact is part of its essence, that the society has an effective link -complete communication- with current and future users and with the public in general, to the purpose of offering clear, realistic and precise information, both on reconstructive surgery and in the area of aesthetics.
